1. It’s a newbie
Yoghurt itself has been around for ages and ages! It originated in the Middle East and India about 5000 years ago….. But the idea to freeze yoghurt is fairly new with the first commercial brand brining frozen yoghurt to New England in the early 1970s.
2. It has a birthday month!
In 1993 the United States made June National Frozen Yoghurt Month. They also have a Frozen Yoghurt Day which takes place on February 6. We love FroYo this much too and celebrate the occasions with many FroYos!
3. Frozen Yoghurt has health benefits.
Yogurt benefits us in a lots of different ways. It helps to boost your immune system, lowers serum cholesterol and is a great source of protein, calcium and potassium.
4. Frozen yogurt is alive.
Don’t worry… it’s supposed to be alive and it contain bacteria. The bacteria that exist within frozen yogurt are helpful and considered “good bacteria.” These bacteria are not harmful in any way and they cannot cause you to get sick. In fact, the bacteria in frozen yogurt do just the opposite. The “active cultures” that exist in frozen yogurt are good for you.
